Project Overview

An in-progress R&D initiative from Dvanta Technologies to bring intent-driven, AI-powered search to enterprise HCL Commerce implementations — without ripping out the search infrastructure, business rules, and platform investments businesses already rely on.

The Problems

Enterprise eCommerce has evolved, but many HCL Commerce search experiences still depend on traditional keyword matching. Keyword search is fast and reliable, but it struggles the moment a customer describes what they need instead of naming it exactly — a query like "a comfortable chair for long working hours" often returns poor or irrelevant matches, even when the right product is sitting in the catalog.
